American Drug and Alcohol Survey (ADAS) Results for Bernards Township
The Bernards Township Municipal Alliance Against
Substance Abuse, or “Alliance,”
was founded in 1991, and is a mayoral-appointed volunteer-based coalition of
local parents, youth, health professionals, social service workers, law
enforcement, school personnel, clergy, and other concerned leaders who
support tobacco, alcohol, and drug prevention efforts in the community.
The goals of the Alliance
are three-fold:
Ø
To
educate
about the damaging and addictive effects of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs
Ø
To
support events
and programs, which provide healthy alternatives to substance abuse
Ø
To
create a community-wide presence in the identification of problems and
in designing solutions
To achieve these goals, the Alliance
works to provide consultation, training, and resources to the Bernards Township
community.
The Alliance meets on the
first Tuesday after the first Monday of the month in the conference room of the
Bernards Township Municipal
Building from 6pm-8pm.
Mayoral-appointed representatives are required to attend 75% of all meetings
throughout the year.
